We have brought together 600 distinguished innovators, entrepreneurs, investors, business and industry leaders from Turkey and around the world at the sector meeting hosted by Sabanci University International Energy and Climate Center (IICEC) and Hello Tomorrow Turkey, a pillar of Paris based, including Turkey in the global events chain for the first time, personally supported by key figures such as Michael Bloomberg, former NASA President Daniel Goldin, Emmanuel Macron; global initiative Hello Tomorrow. The event in Istanbul, as part of the events in 10 cities around the world, formed a pillar of the global summit held in Paris on October 13th and 14th.
Energy-oriented startups from Turkey and many other countries of the world also made presentations and had the opportunity to narrate their contributions to the transformation of energy and the products and services they provided in this field.
Deputy Minister Hasan Ali Çelik pointed out the importance of expanding the entrepreneurial pool as government, but in this expanding pool, it is important to increase the number of people who combine innovation and entrepreneurship, namely techno-entrepreneurs. Stating that they improved the requirements of the Tekno-Initiative support program in the R&D Reform Package of the government, Çelik said that it is among the main priorities to spread alternative financing models such as risk and venture capital funds and angel investment.
In his video message, International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol emphasized that clean energy has become a necessity for companies by going beyond being a moral value and underlined the important and dynamic role of startups brought together by Hello Tomorrow. Birol said that “I believe that Turkey is ready to play a leading role in its transformation in energy with its young, dynamic and technology-friendly population, entrepreneurial spirit and growing startup infrastructure.
