The British Council in Turkey initiated the “UK Alumni Climate Change Grant” to select projects that will raise young people’s awareness on climate change and environmental issues in Turkey. Within the grant program,

• we organized online seminars reaching thousands of students across all regions of Turkey,
• launched a social media campaign to help people take action on climate change,
• gathered leading national and international innovators and researchers on climate technology, policy and finance,
• and analyzed climate change from national & international sources and three different perspectives (scientific, policy and financial) and prepared a report.

At the end of the program, it is aimed to publish a qualified climate change report and unveil the concrete reasons & conclusions of climate change. The project concluded with an online event on April 22, World Earth Day, which brings together national and international climate change experts and entrepreneurs.

At the closing event on 22 April (World Earth Day) at 17.00-19.30 (TR Time), Hello Tomorrow Turkey gathered climate change experts from international research centers and universities such as the Grantham Institute, London School of Economics, Imperial College, Columbia University, South Pole Climate Finance Advisory and SHURA Energy Transformation Center as well as deep tech startups from UK, Canada, Turkey such as Agora Energy Technologies (CO₂ redox flow battery), Episome Biotechnologies (eco-friendly enzyme solutions) and Faradai (SaaS/IoT) that develop solutions to fight climate change presented concrete examples of such technologies. The conference also featured concrete examples of climate change activist actions to help against environmental pollution and further agricultural sustainability. At the same time, the report prepared for climate change by Hello Tomorrow Turkey during the project was presented. The event was held in English and Turkish simultaneous translation was available.
