Timur Topalgökçeli is a deep tech entrepreneur whose career spans from energy systems modeling to commercializing breakthrough technologies developed in laboratory settings, with a strong focus on bringing scientific innovation to market.

As Co-Founder and COO of Abundance Gate, Timur helps operate a deep tech company in molecular biology that provides 19,000 m² of state-of-the-art laboratory space compliant with Biosafety Level (BSL) 1 and 2 standards. Abundance Gate also offers lab-to-market advisory services and runs a venture capital fund investing in innovative startups across biotechnology, agritech, and foodtech.

Previously, as the Founder and CEO of Hello Tomorrow Türkiye—established to grow the deep tech ecosystem in emerging markets—he built an innovation community of 8,000 people and supported the commercialization of more than 500 technologies.

Before that, in Paris, he worked on supply-side modeling at the Office of the Chief Economist of the International Energy Agency (IEA) and co-authored 12 publications, including the agency’s flagship World Energy Outlook. He also advised ministers, CEOs, and global leaders across international platforms such as the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos and the G20.

In addition, he serves as a special advisor to the board of Teraloop Oy, which develops energy storage solutions without rare earth elements, and as a senior advisor at Hydroplane Ltd., which develops hydrogen fuel-cell power systems for aerospace applications.

Timur holds a bachelor’s degree from the London School of Economics and a master’s degree from Harvard University. In 2019, he was selected as an Atlantic Council Millennium Fellow among 20 global leaders chosen from over 100 countries. He has also been a recipient of the Harvard Innovation Labs Spark Grants and was selected as a finalist in the MIT $100K competition.
