Yasemin Somuncu
Yasemin Somuncu is an architect and consultant specializing in energy efficiency and sustainable architecture. She holds a master’s degree in Environment and Energy from the Architectural Association School of Architecture (AA) in London and is a certified Passive House Designer and Trainer accredited by the Passive House Institute (PHI) in Germany.
She has led and contributed to numerous EU-funded international projects, including NEED4B, BRICKER, NEW GENERATION, and NEXT-GEN. She currently works as an independent consultant on sustainability and energy-efficiency projects supported by the European Union, the World Bank, and the Canada Fund.
In 2023, she served as a Mentorship Specialist at the İzmir Technology Development Zone, guiding entrepreneurs on internationalization, investor meetings, marketing strategies, and patent development. She has also participated in various volunteer mentorship programs, supporting young entrepreneurs and startups in sustainability, innovation, and clean energy solutions.
Somuncu currently serves as the Secretary General of EYODER, the Coordinator of the Türkiye Sustainable Buildings Network (SEPEV), and the Co-Chair of WiRE (Women in Renewable Energy) Türkiye.
