We believe that deep technology entrepreneurship can change our everyday lives and bring a different perspective to the world. Products and services that can be developed with high technology will enhance our quality of life and will also significantly benefit the economy.
In this context, the "Deep Dive into Deep Technology" report, which is the first study conducted in Turkey about deep technology entrepreneurship, is one of the few studies conducted in this field worldwide.
What is Deep Technology?
The term "Deep Technology" was first used in 2014 by Swati Chaturvedi, CEO of the VC firm Propel(x).
The term deep technology refers to ventures that develop products based on significant scientific breakthroughs or engineering innovations. Deep technology ventures working in categories such as artificial intelligence, data and image processing, autonomous vehicles, AR & VR, industry 4.0, internet of things, biotechnology, and nanotechnology are developing unique products and solutions in fields such as agriculture, automotive, consumer products, aerospace, energy, environment, food, health, and telecommunications.
In addition to these solutions, the COVID-19 pandemic has underscored the importance of medical technologies and that many other diseases are still awaiting effective treatments. Moreover, the COVID-19 pandemic has shown that deep technologies will play an important role in solving today's global problems.
Understanding the aforementioned fields of deep technology activities and identifying the problems and needs of their developers is of great importance in achieving solutions to global problems. The aim of this study is to analyze the current state of deep technologies and to propose solutions to the identified problems and needs.
