Facebook and Hello Tomorrow Turkey collaborated to launch the BAŞLAT program, which aims to develop early-stage technology ventures from various categories, with 28 ventures qualifying for participation. The program's launch took place online on February 8, 2021.
During the event, TÜBİTAK President Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, who delivered the opening speech, stated that TÜBİTAK's support approaches are based on large-scale projects, whether in the technology development process or the product development process. He noted that the “BAŞLAT” program provides training and mentorship services for technology entrepreneurs operating in the fields of “Smart Cities,” “Digital Health,” “Educational Technologies,” “Agricultural Technologies,” and “Data & Cyber Security,” contributing to other significant opportunities within the joint entrepreneurship ecosystem. Mandal congratulated the 28 companies involved in the program, stating, “The programs you are part of are truly focused on the technologies of the future and the necessary solution-oriented approaches.”
At the launch, an investor panel was also held, moderated by venture and technology journalist Timur Sırt. In the panel, Dilek Dayınlarlı, Managing Partner of ScaleX Ventures, Alper Karagöz, Partner of Diffusion Capital Partners, and Esranur Kaygın, Fund Manager of Sankonline discussed the future of the sectors in the application categories of the BAŞLAT program, as well as the investment status and criteria in these sectors.
In the BAŞLAT program, 22 ventures in the categories of Smart Cities, Digital Health, Agricultural Technologies, Educational Technologies, and Data & Cyber Security participated in the launch with presentations introducing their ventures, technologies, and teams.
